Half way

It is sunday (boxing day) night we are free camped halfway between Dubbo and parkes, the weather has been good to us, we stayed at the Gem caravan park at Belatta last night (very ordinary) but at least the amenities were reasonably clean and the showers were hot (camp shower tonight).
Stopped at Du bbo and went through the old Jail, gee the poor buggers did it tough in there.
Off to Narranderah tomorow and will stay some past there, free camping again and then to Rochester Tuesday.
It has just started to rain here, not heavy and I think it will pass over quickly.
Bad reception here signal too slow, so will post pictures when I get a better signal

PACKED

Well we are all packed now and ready to go, the van is parked outside our daughters house ready for an early start tomorrow after our family get together tonight

RAINING

Raining again!! and we are still packing, had a look at the weather map and it looks like it is mostly on the coast so with luck when we leave on saturday and head west to the Newell highway we should drive out of it.
Just read a comment on the Grey Nomad forum about what you have for dinner if you are on the road on Christmas day, I hadn't really thought about it but we will be travelling in convoy with friends, so I guess we will make something appropriate when we stop for the day.

The Countdown has begun...

Spending the last couple of days getting the van and tug ready, almost everything packed now even the pushies (musn't forget them),
Taking van to our daughters place on friday for Christmas dinner and hitting the road at 6am on Christmas day from there.
We are meeting up with friends at Aratula and having breakfast at Warwick, hopefully lunch at Gundiwindi and stopping for the night at Belatta which is just before Narrabri in NSW.
After that short days only, 300ks a day at the most and expect to arrive at Rochester in Victoria sometime on the 28th of December and then over to Elmore on the 30th for the national caravan rally.
